Your GPS in the Net: The Asociación Costarricense de Profesionales en Turismo (Acoprot) and Rutas Satelitales GPS (Smart Ways) together, have developed the Satellite Tourist Map, with the aim of locating every tourist destination with the use of Global Positioning Service (GPS) technology.
GPS provides the geographical grid references of every destination and it is known in the technological circles of the world as the directions of the future. Tourists can access this site, search and filter clients by name, category and other criteria or ask for the route between two points marked in the map until you reach the desired destination.
Users can additionally find out about product offers in all Costa Rica or by provinces or areas. Business people also have commercial opportunities through a virtual identity known as e-card, promotional videos, banners and additional services of active promotions and direct contacts, by means of the contact form the system redirects to your reservation center or the “info” -type email of every company in order to have direct contact with the client.
The business-chain outline we suggest will allow tourist companies to offer another solution to their marketing platform, with top-of-the-line tools and exposure to the world by means of the biggest technology networks: Internet and GPS satellite network. Also, the project is looking forward to solving the lack of geographical orientation and signposting.
Each company will be able to create its own signposting network on the map with the aim of helping tourist find their way in Costa Rica without any problem when there are no guides available. All the companies that offer products or services in the tourist area can register in the Satellite Tourist Map. ACOPROT will be in charged of customer information and sales, as well as of any logistic support companies may need. This support includes training on the use of this device, four promotions a year, (correct art) Erase minutes (correct art)
Location services are offered by means of three subscription packages that provide geographical-positioning registers and complementary services. The project additionally involves the search and settlement of information centers in different tourist or commercial squares, where a tourist can search the map and have free access to all the services it provides.
